Internet Marketing - It's In The System By Richard
In order to be a successful internet marketer, you need to look for a complete system that will train you in the art of product identification, website creation, marketing, list building, bonus creation, targeting traffic and many other items that go into having a complete system.
When I started getting involved with internet marketing, it was a frustrating experience. Having come from an academic background, I was used to learning in a very structured, logical manner. With internet marketing I found out quickly that it was possible to spend several dollars on information products and still only have a portion of the answers for which I was searching.
I discovered that the "gurus" out there were very good at promising you "the answer to all your needs" when it comes to building a successful business on the internet, only to be disappointed at what they actually delivered (but, if I just bought their next product, I'd have everything I'd ever need to be successful).
I finally wised up and started looking for systems, not puzzle pieces. There is a very specific system to making money on the internet. You can't just create a website and expect
to make money, regardless of what some might tell you. Even if you find what could be the most sought after product in the history of mankind, if you don't know how to market it and get your site in front of targeted traffic, you will be the only one who knows just how great your product is and your attempt to create residual income on the internet will fail miserably.
In order to be a successful internet marketer, you need to look for a complete system that will train you in the art of product identification, website creation, marketing, list building, bonus creation, targeting traffic and many other items that go into having a complete system. With a system like I just described, you can literally put your online marketing efforts on auto pilot once you have put in the initial effort to educate yourself as to how the system works.
Each piece of the system works interactively with the others, and it takes some time and work on the part of the newbie internet marketer to learn the ropes. Now, don't be frightened when I say it "takes some hard work and education" to become successful as an internet marketer, it's not rocket science, especially if you take the time to search out an information source that takes you step-by-step through each part of the system you need to achieve your goals.
The problem is that most of the internet "gurus" want to sell you information one piece at a time (they make more money that way), but complete educational systems are available if you are selective as you get started. Hey, it may take a while in the beginning, but putting in the time will be rewarded (and less expensive).
One of the big mistakes that many new to the internet marketing game make is that they get overwhelmed by all the information products out there and get frustrated and quit because they just can't seem to put it all together. Complete systems for internet marketing are available if you look hard and don't just settle for information products that are only one small piece of a large puzzle.
Look for someone who has done it and offers to help you through the entire process. Getting started and profitable on the internet takes some time, but with the right guidance you can make it happen. Stay away from those who want to educate you on one small portion of the system you need for success, and look for someone who is interested in your success, not just your money.

Performance Marketing Alliance (PMA) Q&A at Affiliate Summit East 2008 I walked out the Performance Marketing Alliance (PMA) Q&A session at Affiliate Summit East 2008 in Boston, MA just a few hours ago, full of frustration and a bit of anger. I had to calm myself down first before I started writing this post. The subject is important and emotional for most of us, but emotions will not solve our problems and only make it harder to come to agreements and finding solutions that benefit every single one of us.
PMA and the New York State Law Issue

Note to self: arrive in Vegas extra early for ASW ‘09.
I can’t really talk about the show because it has not really started. To

I agree with Jeff on many points, including the lack of innovation in the industry during the past five years. Why was there not much innovation you might ask yourself? In my opinion networks and also many advertisers did shift their focus and priority towards affiliate publishers who are not traditional affiliates in the first place. Those publishers use the affiliate or CPA tracking platform

The Affiliates of New York are proof of what small groups can accomplish. In the face of what has come to be known as the Amazon Tax, a rather short sighted law instituted by New York state, and the combined lack of guidance from many of the networks and merchants in the industry, this group has put together an excellent set of recommendations.
These recommendations provi
